ISLAMABAD, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan said Thursday that its nuclear
assets are well protected and safe.
At a weekly press conference on Thursday, the foreign ministry's spokesman,
Muhammad Sadiq, said that Pakistan has international safety standards about its
nuclear assets and "no government of the world has told Pakistan that its
nuclear weapons were unsafe."
The nuclear technology is a serious business and production of nuclear
arsenal is a threat to the humanity, Sadiq said.
Pakistan, like its neighbor India, is not a member of the Nuclear
Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT). Some countries are afraid that the nuclear
weapons could fall into the hands of extremist groups.
