JAKARTA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is seeking for the FTA (free trade
agreement) with Australia, India and New Zealand after similar agreements with
China, the ASEAN and South Korea.
"We made an initial negotiation with India, Australia, and New Zealand, but
so far, the most comprehensive one is with Japan," the Antara News Agency on
Wednesday quoted Anggito Abimanyu, the head of Fiscal Policy Board, as saying.
According to him, the agreement on cooperation with the three countries
will be focused on trading only.
The FTA with the three countries, according to Anggito Abimanyu, is not as
big as what Indonesia has made with Japan through The Japan-Indonesia Economic
Partnership Agreement (JIEPA). "It only involves exempting and reducing the
tariff cost," said Abimanyu.
