KABUL, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Three militants were killed as a mine planted by
themselves went off accidentally in Afghanistan's Ghazni province Wednesday, a
local official said.
"The insurgents were busy planting a mine on a road in Andar district early
this morning to target government troops, suddenly it exploded killing three
rebels," spokesman of the provincial administration Ismael Jihangir told Xinhua.
He did not give more details.
Taliban has not made comment.
More than 2,000 people including around 700 civilians have been killed in
Taliban-related violence and conflicts over the past six months in Afghanistan.
