    BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese foreign minister Yang Jiechi met with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice here on Sunday, both vowing to continuously promote constructive bilateral relationship in the future.

    The China-U.S. relations, with many ups and downs, have generally maintained its momentum of progress since the two established diplomatic ties in 1979, Yang said.  Full story

Chinese FM thanks U.S. government, people for quake relief aid

    BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that China is grateful to the quake relief aid the U.S. government and people offered.

    At the beginning of their official talks in Beijing, Yang expressed appreciation for Rice's brief trip to the quake area in China's Sichuan province.   Full story

U.S. secretary of state concludes China tour

    BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice left here Monday afternoon, concluding her two-day visit to China.

    During her stay in Beijing, Rice met with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and State Councilor Dai Bingguo, respectively, and held talks with Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, who invited her for the visit.  Full story
