Mubarak urges int'l community for measures to solve food crisis

    SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Monday called on here international communities and institutions to take responsibility to solve the global food crisis through dialogue and collective actions.

    Mubarak made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 11th African Union (AU) Summit in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharmel-Sheikh to tackle peace and security in Africa, increase of food and oil prices as well as the situation in Zimbabwe among others.

    "Africa is one of the most affected part of the world by the global food crisis, energy prices increase and warm climate change," he noted, adding that the developments are in close links with agriculture development.

    He called on the international communities and institutions to take responsibility to find a solution to the current global food crisis through sincere and constructive dialogue and collective actions.
