Chinese president urges enhanced efforts to cope with climate change

    BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao is urging the country to contribute further efforts to the global fight against climate change.

    Hu, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks here on Friday at a group study for the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. The study focused on global climate change and the country's ability to tackle the issue. Full story
