Special report: Reconstruction After Earthquake

BEIJING, June 23 -- China has launched a campaign to ensure that money and materials for earthquake relief work are used properly.

The Party's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Council's Supervision Ministry say that all relevant parties including government departments, Red Cross societies and charity institutions will be subject to inspection.

Embezzlement and corruption will be severely punished if discovered. A 24-hour hotline has been created for public complaints about misused funds.
