HANOI, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will
make an official visit to the United States from June 23-26, Vietnam News Agency
reported Wednesday.
The trip will be made at the invitation of U.S. President George W. Bush,
the agency said, giving no further information.
According to the statement made by the White House's Press Secretary
Tuesday, the two would talk on ways to advance the "close bilateral cooperation
on a broad range of issues, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN), the United Nations Security Council, education, energy and climate
change, food security, and regional economic integration".
"The U.S.-Vietnam relationship is grounded in the shared commitment to a
strong trade relationship, regional security and prosperity, and health and
education cooperation," the statement said.
