Special report: Reconstruction After Earthquake¡¡
HANOI, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese young reporters will drive motorbikes
across the country to gather signatures and cash to support victims of a recent
strong earthquake in China's southwestern Sichuan province, according to local
media Wednesday.
"Our five reporters will cover nearly 2,000 km through 17 cities and
provinces in half a month to collect 100,000 signatures and cash for the
victims. We're still poor, but willing to share the pain and difficulty faced by
Chinese people," said Nguyen Quang Hoa, editor-in-chief of local newspaper
Capital Youth.
Under the newspaper's initiative, the reporters will depart from Hanoi
capital on June 19, go along the 1A national road and collect signatures and
money from individuals and organizations, including students, farmers, police
officers and soldiers. Their final stop will be Ho Chi Minh City.
