WASHINGTON, June 18 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States signed a 10-year energy and environment cooperation framework here Wednesday after the two nations concluded their fourth round of Strategic Economic Dialogue, or SED.

ANNAPOLIS, the United States, June 18 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States agree on the benefits of trade and see protectionism as counterproductive, China's Commerce Minister Chen Deming said here Wednesday.

ANNAPOLIS, United States, June 17 (Xinhua) -- The
sovereign wealth fund (SWF) is very beneficial to the development of global
investment and the economy, Chinese Finance Minister Xie Xuren said on Tuesday.
"The sovereign wealth fund is a very important part
of the cycle of savings reinvestment. It is very important in mobilizing
savings, increasing investment, allocating resources effectively and improving
the structure of resources," Minister Xie said at a news briefing held during
the ongoing 4th U.S.-China Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) in Annapolis,

ANNAPOLIS, United States, June 17 (Xinhua) -- China
and the United States have identified power generation, transportation and three
other areas as priorities under a 10-year framework of energy and environment
protection cooperation, a Chinese official said Tuesday.
The two sides are pushing for the formulation of
action plans in the five areas, Zhang Xiaoqiang, vice minister in charge of
China's National Development and Reform Commission, told reporters here on the

ANNAPOLIS, United States, June 17 (Xinhua) -- China
plans to send food safety and product quality inspectors to the United States as
a reciprocal move to a similar U.S. proposal, a senior Chinese official said
here Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the fourth
round of the China-U.S. Strategic Economic Dialogue, or SED, Li Changjiang,
minister of China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection
and Quarantine (AQSIQ), said the proposal to send U.S. food safety and product
quality inspectors to China was first raised by U.S. Secretary of Health and

Wang Qishan has called for stronger cooperation between China and the United

Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) between the United States and China has played
"a constructive role" in U.S.-China relations which are "important to world
peace and prosperity," James A. Dorn, vice president for academic affairs of the
Cato Institute said recently.
The fourth round of SED, first launched in December 2006,

The dialogue is scheduled to be held from June 17 to 18 in
