BEIJING, June 12 -- Chinese President Hu Jintao
has met with Sudanese Vice President, Ali Osman Mohammed Taha in Beijing.
Hu Jintao spoke highly of the development of China's
relationship with Sudan. He said China is willing to work with the Sudanese
government to strengthen political dialogue and communication, and expand
cooperation in different fields.
Concerning the Darfur issue, Hu said the Sudanese
government, the African Union and the UN, should work together to push forward
the process and urge a ceasefire, as well as promote a humanitarian situation.
Hu said China is willing to play an important role towards the goal by
cooperating with the Sudanese government and other organizations.
Taha praised China's role in tackling the Darfur
issue. He expressed his gratitude for China's humanitarian aid and peace-keeping
forces. He said Sudan will try to solve the problem as soon as possible.
