KATHMANDU, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala
consulted with Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula as well as security
officials here Wednesday morning, as the ex-King Gyanendra prepares to vacate
the Narayanhiti palace in Kathmandu Wednesday evening.
According to a leading website, nepalnews.com report, Koirala held talks
with the security officials on the security arrangement for the palace and
ex-royals.
At least five senior officials of the Nepali Army including chief of army
staff Rookmangud Katwal were present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Gyanendra is said to be preparing to leave the palace in the
evening.
The ex-royals have been provided with 50 Armed Police Force personnel and
25 Nepali Army personnel. They will shift to Nagarjuna palace.
Nagarjuna Palace, some eight km north-west from downtown Kathmandu, was
formerly owned by Gyanendra in his capacity as king and nationalized by the
government in August last year.
The first meeting of Constituent Assembly on May 28 had implemented
republic and asked the ex-king to vacate Narayanhiti royal palace within 15
days.
