HANOI, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese police handed over an Australian man of Vietnamese origin, who led a gang in Australian and killed a godfather of another gang before hiding in Vietnam, to Australian police on June 9, local newspaper Labor reported Tuesday.
Due to conflicts with another criminal gang led by Duong Van Son, the 47-year-old Lee Hoang Thanh and his accomplices kidnapped Son in January 2006. After torturing Son, Thanh shot him dead and then fled to Vietnam.
Thanh was arrested by Vietnamese police on May 29 when he was hiding in southern Ca Mau province.
