¡¡KABUL, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Three soldiers of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have been killed and one ISAF soldier has wounded in an insurgent suicide attack in southern Afghanistan, the military alliance said Monday.

Four ISAF soldiers were initially wounded in the June 8 blast and after being evacuated to an ISAF base three of them died of wounds, the ISAF said in a statement.

The NATO-led military did not release the nationalities of the casualties. But British government has said three soldiers of its force based in Helmand province of southern Afghanistan died Sunday in a suicide blast attack while on patrol.

Britain contributes 8,530 troops to the current 52,900-strong Afghanistan-based ISAF force and most of British forces are based in insurgency-ravaged Helmand in the south.
