Vessel fire injures 15 in Singapore

    SINGAPORE, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen people were injured in a vessel fire which occurred at a shipyard in Tuas, southwestern Singapore on Sunday.

    According to Channel News Asia reports, it took firefighters 20 minutes to bring the flames of a supply vessel under control, and much of the damage was confined to the vessel's bridge area.

    The victims, who suffered burns and smoke inhalation, were taken to several hospitals for medical treatment.

    The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) is now investigating the cause of the fire.
