Tokyo governor to attend Beijing Olympics opening ceremony

    TOKYO, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara said Friday that he will attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games scheduled for August 8 this summer.

    At a news conference, Ishihara said that he wants to have a look at the opening ceremony and learn some management strategy and techniques in the meanwhile.

    Tokyo is vying with Chicago, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. The International Olympic Committee is expected to unveil its selection of the host city on Oct, 2, 2009.Enditem
