LUSAKA, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A six-year-old girl has been killed by a crocodile at Sinalulongwe Fishing camp on Lake Kariba in Sinazongwe district of Southern Province of Zambia, Sinazongwe District vice chairperson Fisher Zimana said.

He said the girl was caught by the crocodile as she was drawing water from the lake with her mother and other members of the family, according to Zambia News and Information Services.

Zimana expressed worry at the high incidents of crocodiles killing people in the district.

He warned parents against sending their children to draw water on Lake Kariba.

Zimana also appealed to Zambian Wildlife Agency (ZAWA) to crop the reptiles that have become a menace to the people living along lake Kariba.

In March this year, a family of three people including a pregnant woman, was killed by a crocodile in Chiyabi area of the district.
