HANOI, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked relevant sectors to strictly follow government's solutions to control inflation, Tuesday's Vietnam News reported.

At a regular government meeting on Monday, the Prime Minister said food prices continued to rise significantly recently, partly due to false reports and commercial speculation at the end of April and early last month.

The government would strictly punish speculators and those who issued false information to raise prices and cause market chaos, he said.

The Vietnamese government is focusing on measures to tackle people's difficulties and needs. More than 23,000 tons of food had been delivered to hungry people in remote areas, the paper reported.
