SEOUL, May 31 (Xinhua) -- A magnitude-4.2 earthquake struck South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju on Saturday, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported.
The earthquake erupted at 9:22 p.m. (1222 GMT) and left some residents and buildings in the island shaken, it said.
There have been no reports of injuries or property damage in the earthquake so far, Yonhap quoted unnamed weather officials as saying.
The quake is believed to have originated in the sea 78 km south of the island, South Korean weather officials said.
