KABUL, May 28 (Xinhua) -- One soldier serving the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) died of wounds and four other soldiers were wounded Wednesday in an explosion during a patrol in eastern Afghanistan, the ISAF said.
In a statement, the military alliance said an improvised explosive device (IED) caused the blast and the troops found another IED in the vicinity of the explosion site along with a truck containing various IED parts.
Without giving more information, the ISAF didn't release the casualties' nationalities.
A 47,000-strong multi-national forces are now deployed across Afghanistan under the flag of the UN authorized NATO-led ISAF, to help with security stabilizing and reconstruction in the post-Taliban nation.
