    BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) --The Mexican Government has offered 100,000 U.S. dollars in aid to China's quake-affected Sichuan province, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

    Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi expressed gratitude for the donation.

    "The Mexican government and people pay tribute to Chinese people's perseverance in the face of the disaster," said Mexican Deputy Foreign Minister Maria de Lourdes Aranda Bezaury on Friday in a meeting with Yang Jiechi.

    She also conveyed the deep condolences and sympathy of all Mexicans to the Chinese people.

    Aranda was here to chair the preliminary session of the third meeting of the China-Mexico Permanent Bi-national Commission, according to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman.
