KABUL, May 22 (Xinhua) -- A bomb attached to a bicycle exploded Thursday in southern Afghan city of Kandahar as an Afghan army convoy was passing by, leaving one soldier killed and another soldier wounded, a police officer said.
The explosive device, tied to a roadside bike, was triggered as an army convoy passed by, Hzrad Mohammad, a police officer on the spot, told Xinhua.
There has been no immediate responsibility claim but Taliban-led militants usually carry out such bombing attacks against Afghan government and foreign troops.
Southern regions like Kandahar are usually considered as hotbed of Taliban militancy and have witnessed continuous blasts.
