BEIJING, May 21 -- Chinese champion Changchun Yatai was asked to postpone its Wednesday Asian Football Club Champions League game against Australia's Adelaide United FC to mourn for the May 12 earthquake victims.

Chinese website Sina reported on Monday that as May 19-21 is a national period of mourning to pay respect to the earthquake victims, General Administration of Sport of China announced that all Chinese teams and players should stop their games during the three days.

At 6 p.m. on Monday, Changchun Yatai received a notice from Chinese Football Association, saying Yatai's game against Adelaide United FC, which was originally planned for this Wednesday, will been rearranged to Thursday afternoon.

Aurelio Vidmar, head coach of the Australian club, said his team can understand the delay and will try their best during this last match in Group E.

The Australian footballers have already stayed in Changchun for three days to prepare for the decisive battle.

Only the winner of the match can be promoted to the next stage of this year's Asian Football Club Champions League.
