BUDAPEST, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Microsoft chief
executive Steve Ballmer was interrupted during his lecture at Budapest's
Corvinus University on Monday after a member of the audience started throwing
eggs at him, Hungarian News Agency MTI reported.
Ballmer escaped the chucked eggs and none of eggs hit
him. The man who protested against an agreement between the Hungarian government
and Microsoft signed earlier in the day, was removed from the room and Ballmer
continued his lecture.
Under the agreement, Hungary's government will team
up with Microsoft in a program to train IT professionals and help the
development of an electronic information society.
The TITAN program launched by Microsoft, aims to
train highly qualified IT and communications technology professionals.
TITAN is expected to start next January and will be
financed mostly from European Union funds. Around 10 billion forints, or
40million euros, are expected to be spent on the program during the period of
2009-2012, and 10,000 IT professionals and 25,000 business leaders are expected
to be included in the first year alone.
