PYONGYANG, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Journalists from the north and south side of the Korean Peninsula on Friday called for efforts to "dynamically wage media activity for reunification," the official news agency KCNA said.
The journalists, who are attending a two-day meeting at Mt. Kumgang resort of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK),issued a joint resolution calling for efforts for reunification of the Peninsula.
Journalists should "open a new era of independent reunification and peace and prosperity, with the pen of reunification and patriotism," the resolution said.
The meeting will be concluded later Friday.
According to the KCNA, participants in the meeting are from two journalist organizations, namely the Press Panel of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the Press Headquarters of the South Side Committee.
The June 15 joint declaration was signed between the two countries during a summit meeting in the year 2000. Leaders of the two countries held a second meeting early last October.
