LIMA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in the bus accident in Peru on Wednesday rose to 29 and 15 others were injured, with some of them seriously, the Peruvian police confirmed.

    The bus turned over and fell off a 100-meter cliff in southern Canete on early Wednesday for yet unknown reasons. When the accident occurred, the inter provincial bus had 45 passengers aboard, and it had parted from Lima 120 kilometers away.

    Rescue brigades and firemen worked hard many hours to rescue the victims trapped in the wrecked bus, said the police.
