BERLIN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The German government on Wednesday announced a ban on two right-extremist organizations for their Holocaust-denying activities.
Police also conducted raids on Wednesday in three states and confiscated propaganda materials of the two groups, known as Collegium Humanum and VRBHV (the Association for the Rehabilitation of Those Persecuted for Disputing the Holocaust), the German Interior Ministry said.
"Both of the groups are directed against the constitutional order of Germany and violate law by their continued denial of the Holocaust," said the ministry in a statement.
According to the ministry, the groups have brought together Holocaust deniers from across Germany and conducted activities including anti-Semitic propaganda and glorification of Nazi tyranny.
"The right-wing extremism has many faces. These include young neo-Nazis as well as old Nazis. What they have in common is the rejection of our free democratic system," said German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble.
"These moral arsonists are the breeding ground for racist violence which must be fought against by the government," Schaeuble added.
