JERUSALEM, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is scheduled to meet her Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Abul Gheit in London on Friday, local daily Ha'aretz reported on Tuesday.
The anti-smuggling issue is one of the topics the two ministers are expected to address, said the report, adding that the two neighboring countries have already been trying to resume their joint efforts to halt arms smuggling into Gaza for Palestinian militants.
Israel and Egypt fell into a verbal strife around the beginning of the year when Livni slapped Egypt for not acting decisively against arms smuggling into the Gaza Strip while Abul Gheit in response accused her of lacking understanding of the situation.
While in London, the two foreign ministers will also discuss the possible re-opening of the Rafah border crossing between the coastal Gaza Strip and Egypt, after Hamas has threatened to breach the border to break Israeli blockades, according to the report.
