JAKARTA, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Timor Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao will visit Indonesia from April 28 to May 2 to discuss bilateral affairs with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesian State Spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said in a release here on Monday.
It was the first Xanana's overseas official visit after he was elected as prime minister in August last year in the small nation.
During the visit both Prime Minister Xanana and President Susiloare to witness the signings of agreements on the sectors of trade, and drug and food controls, the spokesman said.
On business sector, the prime minister is scheduled to meet with Indonesian businessmen, he said.
Xanana was also slated to meet with Indonesian House Speaker Agung Laksono, Chairman of Indonesian People of Assembly Council Hidayat Nur Wahid, Indonesian Military Commander General Djako Santoso and National Police chief General Sutanto, said Dino.
The prime minister will be accompanied by nine Timor Leste ministers, among them are the minister of trade, the minister of tourism, and the minister for infrastructure, Dino said.
Timor Leste, a former Portuguese colony, had been under Indonesian rules for 24 years before it got independence in May 2002.
