LUOYANG, China, April 26 (Xinhua) -- China's taekwondo team has made a 100-day training plan to improve their strategy and techniques as the Beijing Olympic Games is approaching.

"The national team had a very concrete plan with 100-day countdown towards the Olympics. We will focus on the details of the training," said Chen Liren, head coach of the national team.

All the key fighters, including the Olympic Champion Chen Zhong and Luo Wei, are competing at the Asian Weightlifting Championships here, aiming at finding the weak points of their techniques.

Chen refused to disclose the details of the 100-day plan but told the players would have the "real combats and counterworks" in the next three months.

"We will invite some players from South Korea, Spain and France to come to China as the trail horses for our key player," Zhao Lei, vice president of the Chinese Taekwondo Association, told the press.

"We also collected the video and research of the key players from other teams and we will let our players to get familiar with their strategy and techniques through these materials," said Chen.

The Olympic squad has been announced in March including the two-time Olympic champion Chen Zhong in the women's over 67kg division, world champion Wu Jingyu in the women's 49kg division.

The two male players are Liu Xiaobo in the over 80kg class, bronze medalist in the Asian Games in 2006, and Zhu Guo in the 80kg division, who won the fifth place in the world championships in 2007.

The three-day Asian Championship, which has drawn 209 athletes from 27 countries and regions, opened this morning at the Gymnasium of Luoyang Sports Center.
