BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. socialite Paris Hilton is using the Internet to seek for potential friend for her new reality-TV show, "Paris Hilton's My New BFF," media reported Thursday.

About 20 contestants will vie for the chance to be Hilton's permanent plus-one next month.

Thousands of candidates have posted profiles and videos on ParisBFF.com in hopes of winning a spot on the show.

The site has already collected more than 6 million page views since it went live five weeks ago.

When asked whether she can find a real, lasting friendship that way, Hilton replied that she just wanted to see the contestants and see how they are.

She also said she had no preference whether the friend is male or female.

"I don't care if it's a boy or a girl, just as long as its someone I can trust, someone I can have fun with and just someone who's going to be able to like handle all the other things that are going to come with being my best friend," Hilton was quoted as saying.
