JAKARTA, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian police said Thursday it has arrested three men implicated with the life attempt on Timor Leste's President Jose Ramos-Horta and will deport them immediately.

"They will be deported immediately for immigration offenses," National police Chief Sutanto was quoted by leading news website Detikcom as saying.

"They all are the citizens of Timor Leste," he said without citing names.

They entered the Indonesian territories without borders and their arrests were based on a warrant issued by Timor Leste authorities, he said.

They were arrested on separate occasions in East Nusa Tenggara, which shares land border with Timor Leste, and Jakarta.

On Feb. 11, a group of gunmen attacked Horta at his residence, causing serious injuries to the president who later was treated in Australia.

The attack was blamed on a group led by rebel soldier Alfredo Reinado, who was killed in the shootout at Horta's residence.
