    BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie met here Monday with Tanvir Mahmood Ahmad, chief of the general staff of the Pakistan Air Force, pledging to enhance cooperation between the two nations' air forces.

    Liang, who is also a state councilor, said China and Pakistan, as good neighbors, friends, partners and brothers, had witnessed close exchanges and comprehensive cooperation between the two defense departments and armed forces in recent years.

    Liang noted that the two air forces had maintained close ties and conducted exchanges and cooperation in staff training and equipment, voicing the hope of deepening concrete cooperation between the two air forces.

    Tanvir said Pakistan would like to join with China to promote the development of comprehensive strategic partnership of bilateral cooperation.
