BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- A Ukrainian expert on human rights on Monday praised China's achievements in poverty alleviation, saying that illustrated a new way for solving human rights problem.
Nina Karpachova, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, told the Beijing Forum on Human Rights that China's poverty reduction has recorded much progress in the past 10 years, which was also an important progress in human rights improvement.
She said China's experience in poverty reduction could be valuable for other countries.
Karpachova urged the world to view China's achievements and positive role in the world in a fair and just way.
She said she once visited Tibet a few years ago, through talks with locals she got to know that they had been slaves before liberation. Now with their social status uplifted, they had their basic human rights safeguarded.
