GAZA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, vowed on Saturday to carry out more armed attacks against Israel "until breaking the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip."

Abu O'baida told a news conference in Gaza that the armed attacks on Kerem Shalom crossing earlier Saturday "is the beginning of more attacks to break more than ten months of Israeliblockade imposed on the Gaza Strip."

"The attack on Kerem Shalom is the beginning of breaking the siege," Abu O'baida said, adding that Hamas "is not interested in targeting Gaza crossings, and the targets will be always the Israeli soldiers."

Three Hamas militants were killed and 13 Israeli soldiers wounded on Saturday during an armed attack carried out by Hamas militants on the crossing between southern Gaza Strip and Israel.

Since Hamas' takeover of Gaza last summer, Israel has imposed atight blockade on Gaza Strip and closed all its border crossings. Kerem Shalom was partially opened to humanitarian aids and basic food.

Israel accused Hamas of targeting border crossings "in order todrag Israel to tighten the blockade and then use it as propaganda campaign against the siege."
