¡¡KABUL, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Police in Afghanistan's southern Uruzgan province captured a Taliban key commander Mullah Torjan, a statement of Interior Ministry released here Thursday said.

"Mullah Torjan, a Taliban key commander who was active in south Afghanistan and involved in carrying out and organizing subversive activities was captured Wednesday," the statement added.

It also added that the law enforcing agencies had been monitoring Torjan's activities for the past two years and finally tracked him down on Wednesday.
