BRASILIA, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The owner of more than
1,000 goals scored in his illustrious soccer career, Romario officially
announced on Tuesday that he will retire from the sport.
He made his announcement during the debut of his DVD
entitled "Fury of Shorty DVD Romario is goal"

"My last game was in November against International
for the Brasileiro Championship. I don't have anything left in me. I have
already put on two or three kilos," said the former player/coach of the Vasco
soccer team out of Rio de Janeiro.
The athlete's contract expired on the 31st of March
of this year. The 42 year old is looking onto the possibility of play one last
game to officially say goodbye to his fans and the sport. As of now, he is
studying options of playing for Flamengo, Vasco, or even the Brazilian national
soccer team.
