BOAO, Hainan, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar proposed here Saturday to hold a regional climate summit to explore effective ways to solve climate headaches in Northeast Asia.

At the opening meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference, the Mongolian president invited the government heads and officials and businessmen who are attending the forum to participate in the summit and join hands to solve the growing tougher environmental problems in the region.

As a result of global warming, Enkhbayar said, his environmentally vulnerable country had been suffering the melting of permanent frozen soil and other climate problems. The losses caused by climate change were on the increase, he said.

A green Asia, the theme of the annual conference, was to promote a type of development that was carried out in an environmentally responsible and balanced way, he said.
