SANYA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao said
here on Thursday that China was confident and capable of hosting a good Olympic
Games.
He made the remarks in his meeting with Sri Lankan
President Mahinda Rajapakse in the southern island province.

The Beijing
Olympic Games meets the aspiration of the Chinese people for the past 100 years
and is also the common expectation of people worldwide.
With support from people around the world, China was
confident to and capable of phasing out all interference and host a successful
Olympic Games, he said.
Any attempt to undermine the August Games was doomed
to fail, Rajapakse said, adding Sri Lanka wholeheartedly wished the Beijing
Olympiad success.
Sri Lanka firmly adhered to the one-China policy and
resolutely supported the policy of the Chinese government on Taiwan and Tibet
issues, he said.
Rajapakse was here to attend the opening ceremony of
the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia.

Foreign leaders express opposition to attempts against Olympic torch relay
BOAO, Hainan, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Visiting foreign leaders extended support and good wishes to the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games and firm opposition to attempt to politicize the Games and any actions to disrupt the event.
The leaders were attending the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), due to open on Saturday afternoon in Boao, in south China's Hainan Province. Full story

SANYA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Tongan King
Taufa'ahau Tupou V said here on Thursday his country adhered to the one-China
policy and supported the measures adopted to handle the incident in Lhasa.
King Tupou, who was here for a state visit as guest
of Chinese President Hu Jintao, made the remarks during official talks in the
island province of Hainan. Full story
