HANOI, April 2 (Xinhua) -- ASEAN bank deputy governors and financial deputy ministers have met in Vietnam's central Da Nang city, discussing issues on the financial and monetary integration and cooperation in the region, according to local newspaper Youth on Wednesday.
At the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Finance and Central Bank Deputies' Meeting (AFDM) on Tuesday, delegates also touched upon cooperation initiatives within the ASEAN+3 (ASEAN and China, South Korea and Japan), including the Asian Bond Market Initiative (ABMI) and the Chiang Mai Initiative (CMI).
During the meeting in the framework of the 12th ASEAN Finance Ministers' Meeting (AFMM), delegates agreed to submit the 4th protocol on financial service commitment within the ASEAN service framework agreement to the ASEAN Finance Ministers.
At the 12th AFMM slated for April 3-4, ASEAN finance ministers and the ASEAN Secretary General will assess and discuss reactions to economic situations in the region and the world.
AFMM is held annually in rotation in ASEAN including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
