ATHENS, Greece, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Minoa Kyriakou, the
president of Hellenic Olympic Committee, handed the Olympic flame over to Liu
Qi, the president of BOCOG, at the Panathenan Stadiumon Sunday afternoon after
the six-day torch relay in Greece wrapped up.
The flame is to arrive in Beijing on Monday, initiating
the month-long international Olympic flame "journey of harmony" throughout the

ATHENS, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Olympic flame was handed
over to Liu Qi, president of the Beijing Organizing Committee of the 2008
Olympic Games (BOCOG), at a grand ceremony held in the marble Panathenian
stadium here on Sunday.
Minos Kyriakou, president of the Hellenic Olympic

BEIJING, March 30 -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for
the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) President Liu Qi left Beijing for Greece
on March 29 with a delegation to attend the handover ceremony for the Olympic
Flame of the Games of the 29th Olympiad. The ceremony will be held in
Panathenaikon Stadium in Athens on March 30.
Also accompanying them were State Council Deputy
Secretary-General Xiang Zhaolun and Hu Jiayan, Vice Minister of the General
Administration of Sport and Vice-President of the Chinese Olympic Committee. Full story
ATHENS, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The sacred flame of the
Olympics went through the ancient town of Marathon and finally reached Athens,
its destination in Greece relay on Saturday.
The flame arrived at Marathon at noon and was welcomed in
a grand ceremony before being carried through a remarkable relay, tracing the
ancient course marked by the Greece's legend of Pheidippides. Full story
BEIJING, March 29 -- The Olympic Torch plane takes off
from Beijing Capital International Airport on Saturday morning, heading for
Athens where it will collect the famous flame, Tan Zhihong, senior
vice-president of Air China, which provided the plane, said on Friday.
The Airbus A330 passenger airliner, which has 200-plus
seats, including 30 for VIPs, has been chartered to carry the torch on its
