PRAGUE, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Russian experts' entry into the planned U.S. radar base in the Czech Republic would require the consent of the Czech government, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek said Saturday.

    Topolanek added that a reciprocal principle for their visit would be that Russia also grant Czech experts the opportunity to inspect similar facilities within its territory.

    The prime minister indicated earlier the possibility of Russian specialists entering the planned U.S. radar base for inspections, but added the country would not grant them permanent stay.

    The United States plans to build a radar base in the Brdy military district, some 90 km southwest of the Czech Republic's capital Prague, along with an interceptor missile base in neighboring Poland.

    But Russia has objected to the plan, saying it will threaten its national security.

    Recent polls show around 70 percent of Czechs oppose the planned U.S. radar base in their country.
