Liu Qi leads delegation to Greece for Olympic Flame handover
BEIJING, March 30 -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) President Liu Qi left Beijing for Greece on March 29 with a delegation to attend the handover ceremony for the Olympic Flame of the Games of the 29th Olympiad. Olympic flame traces ancient course in Marathon
ATHENS, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The sacred flame of the Olympics arrived at Marathon on Sunday, tracing the ancient course marked by the Greece's legend of Pheidippides.
Niki Bakogiannu, the silver medallist of high jump in the Atlanta Games 1996, ran onto the shelf to ignite the cauldron in the starting point of ancient route left by Pheidippides in Marathon. Full story
Olympic flame back to Athens via Marathon
ATHENS, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The sacred flame of the Olympics went through the ancient town of Marathon and finally reached Athens, its destination in Greece relay on Saturday.

Cyprus Olympic Committee chief to run torch relay in Greece
NICOSIA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- President of Cyprus Olympic Committee Kikis Lazarides will take part in the Beijing Olympic torch relay in Greece on Saturday.
Lazarides will run the Olympic flame on the way from Marathon to Athens, capital of Greece, Cyprus Olympic Committee announced in a statement. Full story
Torch plane takes off for Athens
BEIJING, March 29 -- The Olympic Torch plane takes off from Beijing Capital International Airport on Saturday morning, heading for Athens where it will collect the famous flame, Tan Zhihong, senior vice-president of Air China, which provided the plane, said on Friday.
The Airbus A330 passenger airliner, which has 200-plus seats, including 30 for VIPs, has been chartered to carry the torch on its global tour. Full story
Olympic flame lights Olympus in fifth day of Greece relay
VOLOS, Greece, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The Olympic flame left Greece's second largest port Thessaloniki, passing the ancient site of Dion, the town standing at the foot of the Olympus on Friday.
The flame covered four cities after Vassilios Papageorgopovlos, mayor of Thessaloniki, kindled the setting-off torch in Aristotle Square, passing first the ancient site of Dion, the Ancient Theatre, in its 400km journey. Full story

THESSALONIKI, Greece, March 27 (Xinhua) -- It's a journey of history in the fourth day of Olympic flame relay as the flame travelled in six cities in north Greece on Thursday.
