Villa scores stunning winner as Spain beat Italy

    BEIJING, March 27 -- David Villa's spectacular volley earned Spain a 1-0 win over world champions Italy in a friendly yesterday.

    The Valencia striker, who replaced Fernando Torres at halftime, fired the ball past a helpless Gianluigi Buffon 13 minutes from time after Fabio Cannavaro had headed the ball clear of his area.

Argentina claims 2-0 victory over Egypt in friendly game

    CAIRO, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Argentina claimed a 2-0 victory over African champions Egypt in a friendly football game here on Wednesday.

    In the first half of the game at Cairo Stadium, Egypt played well and managed to end it with a goalless draw with Argentina, which is listed on the top of FIFA's world ranking.
