JAKARTA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian police have arrested four Pakistani citizens in the eastern town of Kupang allegedly on their way to enter Australia illegally, local press said Wednesday.
The four, identified as Farooq, Ishaq Muhammad, Khudadad and Muhammad, were arrested in their hideout in Kopalima district because they had no passports or visas to stay in Indonesia, according to a report in major newspaper The Jakarta Post's website.
Local police officer Chief Brig. Abner Kia said they had traveled from Jakarta to Kupang last week by passenger ship on their way to Australia.
Abner said the police would coordinate with the Foreign Ministry and the Pakistani Embassy in Jakarta to seek a solution for the four.
