Special report:   2008 Olympic Games

JAKARTA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian men's beach volleyball team will miss the Olympics Games in August after failing to play in the final qualification tournament in Australia due to visa problems.

"It's stupid. It's not the first time the Indonesian Volleyball Association has failed to arrange the visas," squad member Andy Ardiansyah was quoted in Wednesday's The Jakarta Post newspaper as saying.

With the team's absence from the Olympics, head coach Slamet Mulyanto said he would prepare the squad for less competitive tournaments in India, Thailand and Indonesia, starting April.
