LOS ANGELES, March 25 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. National Guard pilot in Missouri is suing aircraft manufacturer Boeing over the mid-air crash of an F-15 fighter that he was flying on a training mission, according to the Seattle Times on Tuesday.
Major Stephen Stilwell said he suffered serious injuries when he ejected as the aircraft broke in half over southern Missouri last November.
The U.S. Air Force in the wake of the accident decided to ground more than 300 older model F-15s, saying that it found cracks in some of the planes and parts that didn't meet safety specifications in others.
It is reported that these planes were built by McDonnell Douglas Corp. before the company was purchased by Boeing.
