KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Relations between Malaysia and Pakistan are strong and will continue to grow, local media quoted Pakistan's High Commissioner to Malaysia Tahir Mahmud Qazi as saying on Monday.

    "Our countries have a long history and our friendship speaks volumes," Tahir was quoted by the New Straits Times as saying.

    Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Malaysia as an independent nation in 1957, said Tahir on Sunday on the occasion of his country's National Day.

    Tahir also spoke of the good investment climate in Pakistan and hoped more Malaysia would invest in his country.
