Premier: Lhasa riot aimed to undermine Beijing Olympics

    BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said here on Tuesday that the recent Lhasa riot was aimed to undermine the upcoming Beijing Olympics. 

    The force behind the riot tries "to serve their hidden agenda by inciting such incident," Wen made the remarks at a press conference held following the conclusion of the annual session of the National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislature. Full Story

Premier: Door of dialogue still opens to Dalai


    BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- The door of dialogue still opens to Dalai, so long as he gives up the position for "Tibet Independence", so long as he recognizes Tibet and Taiwan as inalienable parts of the Chinese territory, said Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao here on Tuesday.

Wen Jiabao approved by parliament to be Chinese premier

    BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Wen Jiabao was approved to be premier of China's State Council here Sunday morning, according to the result of a secret ballot by legislators at the ongoing session of the 11th National People's Congress.
