First batch of Bhutanese refugees leave Nepal for U.S.

    KATHMANDU, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The first batch of Bhutanese refugees left Nepali capital Kathmandu for the United States on Monday.

    According to a leading website, thehimalayantimes.com report, 20 Bhutanese refugees of three families flew for the United States after 17 years living in refugee camps in eastern Nepal.

    Some 106,000 Bhutanese refugees have been living in seven camps in eastern Nepal for the last 17 years.
